Wind-driven grit acts like sandblasting on an exposed floor, and the state uses a lot of road chemical. Both argue for a polyaspartic wear layer over a plain epoxy, for abrasion and chemical resistance.
High-altitude UV is brutal on coatings. Anything that sees sun through a garage door or a shop window needs a UV-stable topcoat or it goes yellow and chalky.
Scheduling around the weather
These coatings need the slab to hold between 50°F and 90°F while they cure. In Wyoming that means heated interior work runs year round, while unheated garages, shops and exterior concrete have a real season. Is it worth bringing you in from Idaho?
For a single small garage, often not — we will say so. For a shop, a commercial floor, several bays, or a few neighbours going in together, the numbers usually work fine. Ask and we will give you a straight answer.
Can you work through a Wyoming winter?
Inside a heated building, yes. In an unheated garage or shop, no — the slab has to hold above 50°F through cure, and forcing it produces a floor that fails. We would rather schedule you for spring than hand over bad work.
How do you handle a floor that is already cracked?
Cracks and spalls get cut out and filled before anything else goes down. We will be straight with you though: patching is a repair, not a guarantee. If the slab keeps moving, the coating over that crack can move with it.
